SOTEHING ABOUT MY PROCESS; ABOUT THE CHOICE OF MY MATERIALS; 25.9.23

If I'm going to paint on paper, I prefer watercolors, something deep down keeps me intolerant of acrylics, or the idea of them, it's as if they were oils without being them, and in this case, it is either one is or one is not, as per Hamlet's motto "to be or not to be".

If I'm going to break the limits of reason, if I'm going to throw a stone into space, breaking through the different layers of our atmosphere, I need the strength of oils.

The world of oil is one, the world of watercolor is another, I consider them close, but the world of washes is a more subtle world than that of impastos, that of oily masses is more powerful than fragile watercolors. This leads me to conclude why the use of both depending on the moment: oils for canvases and large formats, watercolors for paper; It's because I truly want to be in their worlds, not in their simulacra, both techniques make me dive and pull me into their world, where I feel the plasticity of the process in its greatest intensity, the feeling of the process is part of the process, and if not I feel it, I'm not in the process... with acrylics I don't feel much, they are like a superficial plasticity, and when I dip my hand into it I can't see a world in their depths, they don't exist... with oils or with watercolors I feel that I am somewhere, or in the middle of some path towards it, I feel like I am in the land of production, I see myself glimpsing through the strangeness of the process the ideal of the work burning through the plasticity of the medium and amidst its development, but with acrylics, just an attempt, just nothing; They are languages, watercolors, oils, languages that I can communicate, but that I can first decipher, understanding them through what I can see in the world they show me.
