Oil painting on panel, made in early 2022, with the archetypal image of the virgin and immaculate Mother of the born God. I try, in many of my works, including this one, to capture the spiritual atmosphere and a metaphysical light that permeates the image that lies in my mind and which I intend to paint. The sober tones describe a typically apostolic recollection and chastity. The purity I try to express in their faces radiates a welcoming light and a deep feeling of piety. From their heads emanates a pale sun, like a light that springs not from the sun, but from the mystery that covers life. A branch of leaves grows to the left side of the Virgin, indicating the flourishing life of creation and the ceaseless birth of nature. It is as if it evokes faces whose expressions angels have, like heavenly saints who look over us and announce their consolations.
